This page shows you how to book special assistance at Sharjah Airport for reduced mobility passengers or those requiring hidden disabilities support. We ensure a well-coordinated journey to and from the terminal with dedicated transport and parking solutions for people of determination.

Dedicated Parking 
(Free Drop-off) Clearly marked, free parking spaces are available at the main entrance of the Departures and Arrivals terminals for convenient drop-off and collection.
Dedicated Paid Parking Clearly marked spaces are provided on the lower level of the paid car parks (Arrivals and Departures).
Porters and cashiers are available to assist with payment machines, if required.

Throughout our airport, we provide a wide range of facilities and round-the-clock assistance, to ensure a comfortable journey for all.

  • Accessibility: The entire airport is designed with accessibility in mind, including wheelchair access, as well as accessible telephones and toilet facilities.

  • Wheelchair Assistance: A wheelchair service at SHJ is available free of charge. Reservation is mandatory and must be made through Sharjah Aviation Services (SAS) or Hala Services at least four hours before the flight is due to depart or arrive. Guests should present their disability card (UAE Ministry of Social Affairs) or a supporting medical report upon booking.

  • Meet & Assist: Hala Services offers comprehensive assisted services, 24/7. The skilled multilingual team provides priority guidance from the check-in desk, through security, immigration, and all the way to the boarding gate, ensuring a well-managed experience.

  • Hearing Impaired Assistance: Our customer service staff have undergone specialised training, including sign language, to effectively assist passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing. You can request this assistance at the nearest customer service desk.

  • Porter Services: Available to assist people of determination with their baggage upon arrival and departure.

We recognise that not all disabilities are visible. We’re dedicated to providing a supportive, understanding, and considered environment for passengers with non-visible disabilities such as autism, anxiety, chronic pain, or cognitive impairments.

  • Discreet Assistance: Passengers with hidden disabilities are encouraged to use Hala Services (Meet & Assist) for an escorted and supported journey. It provides a guided route through check-in, security, and immigration, allowing for extra time and understanding, separate from the standard queues.

  • Staff Awareness: Our customer-facing teams are specifically trained to recognise the unique challenges faced by people of determination.

  • General Policy: All services and facilities listed under SAA’s commitment are applicable to both visible and non-visible disabilities, ensuring empathetic support is provided where required, without the need for medical proof.
