Safety Guidelines
At Sharjah Airport, your safety is always our top priority. In order to maintain the highest levels of aviation security, we work closely with the UAE Civil Aviation Authority, UAE Police Force, Immigration Authority, and our partner airlines. We’ve prepared the following guidelines for you to enjoy a safe and smooth experience.

Prohibited Items
To help your journey run smoothly, please view the list of banned items. Like with any airport, there are strict regulations on what you can carry in both your checked baggage and hand luggage. We also advise you to contact your airline prior to your travel date to check for any updates or new security requirements specific to your destination.
How to Speed Through Security
After clearing immigration, you’ll proceed to security screening. Speed through by following these steps:
Liquids: Remove liquids, aerosols, and gels from your hand luggage and place them separately in the tray provided.
Electronics & Metals: Place your electronic devices (laptops, mobile phones, tablets, etc.) and all metallic items (keys, coins, jewellery) in a separate tray.
Clothing: Remove coats, shoes, and belts.
Process: Place your hand luggage onto the conveyor belt and walk through the metal detectors or body scanners. You may be asked for additional security screening if required.
Hand Luggage Regulations – Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs)
Only limited quantities (up to 100ml) of LAGs can be carried through airport security into the departures lounge. This includes bottled toiletries, drinks, fragrances, cosmetics, and all frozen liquids.
All liquid containers must be placed in a clear, re-sealable 20cm x 20cm plastic bag and presented separately to staff at the X-ray screening point.

Medicines and Special Foodstuff
Medicines and special foodstuff, such as baby food, should be carried separately. You may be asked to provide proof of authenticity for any medication, such as a prescription or a letter from a medical practitioner.
