Caring For Our Community
We continually strive to make a positive impact on Sharjah and the wider UAE. Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focus on giving back to our customers, the local community, and the environment.
Initiatives include reduce–reuse–recycle programmes, health awareness campaigns, humanitarian aid provision and educational engagement with students. Find out more in the sections below.
Environmental Commitment
As a regional pioneer, we act as an environmentally-friendly airport through a commitment to energy efficiency, reduce–reuse–recycle practices, and sharing our environmental knowledge with partners and the community.
Sport
Sharjah Airport actively sponsored the 16th Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival, as well as the Sharjah Tour cycle race.
Charity
Throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, Sharjah Airport Authority distributed Iftar coupons to passengers; in collaboration with Sharjah Charity International, it provided daily Iftar meals to its cargo staff; and it hosted the Ramadan Lanterns exhibition in support of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation.
As well as providing services and facilities to Sharjah Airport employees working at sites beyond the airport, Sharjah Airport has distributed chilled drinks and caps to these workers during the hot summer months.
Community and Health
Sharjah Airport plays an active role in improving the local community by participating in various initiatives across sport, health, education, and culture. This includes awareness campaigns on health risks and providing essential humanitarian aid.
Humanitarian Aid
Sharjah Airport has provided essential aid to UPS for victims of the Nepal earthquake; this included shelter supplies, solar lanterns, food, tarps, blankets, jerry cans and toiletries.
Education and Engagement
We organise regular educational tours for students from schools and universities across the region, fostering the next generation of aviation enthusiasts and professionals.
